Advancing Eye Care Through Better Technology

CUMEDIX supplies, installs and supports precision ophthalmic and optometry equipment for eye hospitals, clinics, optical centres and dispensing laboratories across Nepal — so clinical teams can rely on their instruments and concentrate on the patient in the chair.

Who We Are

Technology Built Around Better Care

CUMEDIX was founded by people who had spent years inside eye care, and who kept watching capable instruments underperform — not because the technology was wrong, but because nobody set it up properly or showed the team how to use it.

So we built the company the other way round. We work with a focused range of manufacturers rather than the widest possible catalogue, which means we genuinely know the equipment we sell: its tolerances, its consumables, its failure modes, and which model suits a twenty-patient day rather than an eighty-patient one.

Today we specify, deliver, install, calibrate and maintain complete refraction rooms, diagnostic clinics and optical laboratories. One team owns the whole lifecycle, so when an instrument needs attention there is never a question about whose responsibility it is.

Purpose & Direction

What we are here to do

Two statements we use to settle arguments internally — including arguments about money.

Our Mission

To put dependable, correctly specified eye care technology within reach of every practice in Nepal — and to stand behind it with installation, training and service that lasts as long as the instrument does.

  • Specify equipment against real clinical workload, not feature lists.
  • Commission every unit on site, with documented calibration.
  • Train the people who will use it, until they are confident.
  • Keep genuine parts available for the equipment we supply.

Our Vision

An eye care system where the quality of a patient's examination does not depend on where in the country they happen to live, or on whether a supplier answers the phone.

We want practices outside the valley to have the same access to modern diagnostics, the same installation standards and the same response times as a hospital in Kathmandu — and to be able to plan their equipment budgets with confidence rather than hope.

  • Nationwide service coverage, on a published schedule.
  • Modern diagnostics within reach of district-level practices.
  • Long equipment life through preventive maintenance.
  • Honest advice, including when not to buy.

Why Choose CUMEDIX

Four things we are prepared to be measured on

Every practice we work with can check us against these.

Precision

Instruments are levelled, aligned and calibrated on your site, then verified against reference targets before handover — so the first reading you take is one you can act on.

Reliability

Equipment sourced through authorised channels, with documented warranty terms, genuine spare parts and a service history we keep on file for every unit we install.

Professional Support

One accountable team for specification, installation, training and repair. You speak to people who know your room, not to a call queue that has never seen it.

Clinical Confidence

Hands-on operator training with reference material your staff keep, so the instrument is used to its full capability rather than its first three buttons.

Our Approach

Four steps, from first conversation to long-term service

The same sequence whether it is a single lensmeter or a complete refraction room.

  1. 01

    Understand

We start with your rooms, your daily patient numbers, your staffing and your budget — on site wherever possible, because floor plans rarely tell the whole story.

  2. 02

    Recommend

You get a written specification with the reasoning behind each instrument, including where a less expensive model would do the job just as well.

  3. 03

    Deliver

Delivery, assembly, levelling, calibration and a documented commissioning check, followed by hands-on training for everyone who will operate the equipment.

  4. 04

    Support

Scheduled preventive maintenance, responsive repair, genuine spare parts and warranty administration for the working life of the instrument.

Leadership

The people you will actually deal with

Small enough that you speak directly to the person who makes the decision.
